Flood funds going unclaimed

Quite a few local author­it­ies were given emer­gency cash to hand out to house­hold­ers affected by June and July’s floods. Since then, we’ve noticed a few news stor­ies sug­gest­ing that people aren’t making use of the fin­an­cial help that’s avail­able regard­less of whether a house­hold is insured or uninsured.

We’ve searched around for all of the flood relief funds we could find and cre­ated this list of coun­cils and other funds that are offer­ing emer­gency money to house­hold­ers, busi­nesses and other organisations.

Dona­tions

You can donate to many of the funds above. The Brit­ish Red Cross National Floods Appeal accepts dona­tions, but dis­trib­utes its money through other organ­isa­tions such as the local author­it­ies listed above.
